How the NPA Preregistration Service works

The NPA Preregistration Service will allow prospective students to apply online for preregistration vacancies in your pharmacy via either www.npa.co.uk or www.pharmalife.co.uk

Vacancies will be posted onto the website directly by you for pharmacy students to view. To post a vacancy you must give the name and address of the pharmacy where they will work, the employment hours, approximate start date, salary details and any benefits you are including.

Pharmacy students will be required to fill out a standard application form including responses to questions and details of references. The NPA Preregistration Service will then match up vacancies with student applications and you will be sent details of applicants on a regular basis. You can choose to be notified either by email or post.

Once a student provides details of references the referees will be contacted automatically and will be asked to provide confidential information about the student. The reference will be made available to you to view if the student applies for your vacancy.

We ask you to consider carefully what closing date you put on the vacancies. Ideally you should aim to call in prospective preregistration students for interviews during the period March / April each year. Starting the recruitment process early also helps to ensure that you get a choice of candidates.

The NPA Preregistration Service will provide you with the following information about prospective students:

  • CV
  • Responses to short essay questions
  • Standard application form responses
  • References where available

Once you receive the above details you can decide whether to call in any students for interview.
