URGENT! A PREREGISTRATION POSITION HAS ARISEN FOR 2008

Due to unforeseen circumstances, a vacancy has arisen at the Dudley Group of Hospitals NHS Trust, West Midlands Region, starting in August/September 2008.

Training bases:Russells Hall Hospital is the principal hospital site in a trust that has more than 800 beds covering the full range of medical specialities. The pharmacy has recently relocated to a new state of the art department and is supported by over 100 pharmacy staff.

Setting: Personal development of pre-registration trainee pharmacists is our aim, our policy is to treat trainees as individuals and our programme is flexible to their needs. The pre-registration tutors are there to support you and make your year an enjoyable experience. Trainees will work in specialist areas of hospital pharmacy, actively participating in clinical pharmacy and visiting other departments within the hospital. Your comprehensive training programme will take place in a progressive Pharmacy environment that includes well developed Aseptic sevices, Medical Information services and Clinical Speciality pharmacist support. The Pharmacy Department utilises ATO dispensers, Technician checkers, Ward based Technician services and extensive automation to enable the Pharmacists to provide a patient focussed clinical service. Russells Hall Hospital also supports undergraduate Pharmacy students in their Clinical Pharmacy training and has strong links with the Department of Medicines Management at Keele University. In addition the Trust has teaching status with the University of Birmingham.

Location: Russells Hall Hospital is a large, General Hospital near Dudley . It is conveniently situated next to the big city life of Birmingham on one side and the beautiful green belt countryside of Worcestershire and Staffordshire on the other. Modern shopping complexes, leisure and sports facilities together with a modern transport infrastructure are all found within easy reach of the hospital.
