URGENT! – A PREREGISTRATION POSITION HAS ARISEN FOR 2008
Due to unforeseen circumstances, a vacancy has arisen at the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust, London Region, starting this year.
Training bases:The Royal Free Hospitals, University College London Hospitals, St Pancras Hospital and The Whittington Hospital, London.
Setting:
Our hospitals are teaching or university associated and our rotational development programme covers all aspects of clinical and technical hospital practice, together with 4 week cross-sector placement. Local training and skill development is supported by the London regional study programme. We hold local regular clinical pharmacy seminars and CPD sessions within each Trust. Audit and project work is expected and actively supported during the year. We focus on developing trainees confidence and competence at solving drug calculations in preparation for the RPSGB exam and clinical practice. The Trusts have robotic dispensing facilities, prescribing pharmacists, dispensing for discharge schemes, pharmacist-led clinics and pharmacy shops and are continually developing their pharmacy practice. CPD is actively supported and all newly qualified pharmacists are supported to undertake a postgraduate diploma in General Pharmacy Practice. This competence based professional development programme provides many opportunities to experience clinical pharmacy in a variety of settings as well as the opportunity to work with our lead specialist pharmacists.
Location:
The hospitals are based in the West End and North London suburbs, with good bus, underground, road and rail services. Hospital accommodation is usually available on request. Excellent sports and social clubs exist on all sites, with easy access to squash courts, swimming pools and gyms. Many social events are organised too, including 5-a side football tournaments, rounders games on Hampstead Heath, and great fun is to be had at the departmental parties.
