Increased number of places in South West England for 2009/10
The number of pre-registration places in South West England has been increased by 18%. Please see the hospital entries for revised numbers of training places (these will be different from the number in the National Recruitment Scheme booklet). |

Increased number of places in Wales for 2009/10
There are now 50 pre-registration trainee pharmacist placements available for 2009/10 intake across Wales. This is a 30% increase in the number of places advertised in the National Recruitment Scheme booklet. 48 are for hospital placements however, new for 2009, there are opportunities to undertake a split pre-registration placement – 6 months in hospital / 6 months in community. The split places would be at a hospital of your choice in North Wales (either: Bangor, Glan Clywd or Wrexham). To apply for one of these split placements use code K16.

2009 intake
Applications for the 2009 intake, positions beginning in August 2009 commenced in March 2008. Open days, roadshows, recruitment fairs can help you to find out more about pre-registration training in the NHS. Dates of these can be found on our home page. Alternatively visit the learn more about pages on this site.
To get started, you must first register with Pharmalife. This is quick and easy and, of course, free of charge. If you have already registered, log in at the top of this page.
If you have registered with Pharmalife for a 2008 post, you will need to register again before you can apply for 2009 preregistration places as we have purged all the old registration data.
To find out how to use the system, please click on How to apply on the left-hand bar. When you are in the system you will find each page has a Help link in the upper right-hand corner. If you have any questions on the page, just click on Help and a window will open offering you assistance.
In order to use this site you must either be:
1. A pharmacy student at a United Kingdom university, or
2. An overseas pharmacist that has successfully qualified through the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) for a preregistration placement in the UK. To learn more about how to qualify, read the RPSGB's Registration of Overseas Pharmacists.
All applications must be completed by entering the necessary details in the website. Please do NOT email CVs - these will not be considered.

2008 intake
We have finished taking applications for the 2008 intake, positions beginning in August 2008. However sometimes vacancies arise outside the normal recruitment timetable and these will be advertised on the home page and emailed to those students who have registered for this service.
