URGENT! – A PREREGISTRATION POSITION HAS ARISEN FOR 2009

We have been informed by North Middlesex University Hospital and St Ann's Hospital (D20) that they have a pre-reg position available to start on the 3rd August 2009.

No. of positions: 1

Training Bases: Middlesex Hospital and St Ann's Hospital (includes some community based experience.

Setting: North Middlesex is a large pharmacy in a busy District General Hospital. St Ann's is a smaller pharmacy in a smaller hospital which is mainly Mental Health plus being the centre for various community/PCT based services. Pre-registration trainee pharmacists formally rotate into several specialist areas within the two hospitals e.g. Dispensary Services, Production, Procurement, Medicines Information, Clinical and Mental Health. Training also includes rotation into community services pharmacy, observing the role of PCT Pharmaceutical Advisers, and visits with community based staff e.g. District Nurses. Further training is supplemented by participation in the in-house educational and training programmes and Regional study days. Various social events are organised regularly by both pharmacy departments.

Location: North Middlesex Hospital is ideally situated with good access to both Central London and nearby countryside. Edmonton Shopping Centre, a leisure centre and Pymmes Park are within walking distance. The hospital is adjacent to the North Circular Rd, and near Silver St rail station, and good bus routes. St Ann's Hospital is on a pleasant garden site. It is convenient for Wood Green Shopping City, a leisure centre, and Finsbury Park. It is near Seven Sisters, Manor House and Turnpike Lane tube stations; Haringey, Haringey Green Lanes and Seven Sisters rail stations, and good bus routes. Accommodation may be available (depending on vacancies) on-site at North Middlesex Hospital, otherwise it is relatively easy to find accomodation in the area. Further information on the hospital can be obtained from the website.
