How to Apply
Applications for NHS Hospital Pharmacy vacation placements will be made via the Internet.
We have linked up with Pharmalife who have developed a web-based method of application, which should make the whole process straightforward for you.
The website will allow you to store your applications in draft form while you work on them and once you are happy with them, then the click of a button will send them to Pharmalife who will arrange for them to be sent to the hospital of your choice. This should reduce the chance of applications going astray or getting buried under paper on your University referee's desk! Once your application has been received electronically, Pharmalife will send you an email to acknowledge receipt of your application.
Completing the application:
There are four stages to your on-line application.
1. Register with the website
Registration is quick and easy. Just click on the 'register' button on the screen and enter your registration details. An email will automatically be sent to you with your username and password in case you forget them.
2. Curriculum vitae (CV) and referees' details
The next step is to complete the on-line CV, which will be same for all of your four applications . You must submit the names and contact details of a referee who can be an employer or academic referee.
3. Profile
Some broad questions that give you the opportunity to sell yourself to employers and persuade them that they should offer you an interview. You can either submit the same answers for each of your four applications, or you can answer the questions differently for each application.
4. Submit your application
You can store many draft applications and profiles but they only count when you hit the 'submit' button.
Your profile(s) are submitted automatically when you make your hospital choices. You can submit your choice of hospitals one at a time or all together.
Once you log onto the website, there are step-by-step instructions on how to complete your application and select your hospitals.
All applications must be made via the website.
